Magnific — the team behind the Magnific.ai upscaler — is one of the best-known names in ultra-realistic image generation and upscaling. Its API covers text-to-image, the Creative and Precision upscalers, image editing (relight, style transfer, background removal), music and sound effects, and a stock library of images, icons and videos. Until today, none of that was reachable from an agent. That changes today.

Magnific is a live MCP integration in Cogny. Connect one org API key and Claude (or any MCP client on app.cogny.com/mcp) can generate, upscale and edit creative, produce audio, search stock — and, crucially, watch how many Magnific credits those generations are burning.

Writes spend your Magnific plan. The create_* tools (image generation, upscaling, relight, style transfer, background removal, music, sound effects) each start a generation that consumes credits from your organisation's Magnific plan. They always confirm with you first, and every one tells you in plain terms that it consumes credits.
Everything else is a free read. Polling a task's status, listing tasks, team analytics and stock search cost no credits.
Credit tracking is built in. get_team_credit_usage returns the team's consumption over a date range, so you can see what generating all that creative costs without leaving the agent.
Tasks are async, and agents poll them. Magnific returns a task_id; your agent polls the matching get_*_task until status is COMPLETED and the result URLs appear in generated — or FAILED.
Results are temporary URLs — the agent downloads them promptly, because they can expire.
The Content Intelligence scheduled template now recognizes Magnific as an alternative content/creative signal.

Audio	`create_music_generation` and `create_sound_effect` produce tracks and effects; poll `get_music_task` / `get_sound_effect_task` until done.
Stock search	`search_stock_images`, `search_icons` and `search_stock_videos` keyword-search Magnific's stock libraries. Free to browse.
Credit tracking	`get_team_credit_usage` returns credit consumption over a date range; `list_team_members`, `list_team_api_keys`, `list_team_projects` and `list_team_groups` show who and what is in the team.

How credits and confirmations work

The key thing to know about Magnific is that it's not read-only — and we don't pretend otherwise. Every generation call spends real credits on your Magnific plan, so:

Every create_* tool is annotated as a write and its description states that it consumes credits before an agent hits the API.
The agent is expected to confirm with you first before calling a create_* tool — the integration's own instructions say so.
Credit-tracking tools are free reads, so you can check the balance and usage any time.

This is the same honesty the ShipStation integration applies to buying labels: writes that cost money are named as writes and confirm first; reads stay read-only.

How to connect it

Sign in to Magnific and open your organisation's API keys page (magnific.com/user/organization/api-keys). Create a key and copy it.
In your warehouse Settings → Cogny Managed MCPs, click Connect on the Magnific card.
Paste the key.

The key is org-wide: every call acts on your whole Magnific team, and generations consume from the organisation's plan. It's stored encrypted and sent only as the x-magnific-api-key header to api.magnific.com. Disconnect any time with one click, and delete the key in Magnific if you stop using Cogny.

Works with the Content Intelligence template

The Content Intelligence scheduled template now recognizes Magnific as an alternative creative/content signal, alongside Contentful and Bloom — so if your creative pipeline runs on Magnific, the template can factor that into its recurring content-gap analysis. Enable it from your warehouse Scheduled → + New scheduled prompt → Content Intelligence.
